Storefront Search Relevance
A customer types one word and the store returns products without it; this is the filter that fixed it.
The production code behind this demo is my own work — diagnosis, implementation, release QA.

2 DROPPED
- SHRIMP STRIPE KNIT — the storefront returned it, but the word appears in none of its fields.
- TIDEPOOL SHORT — the storefront returned it, but the word appears in none of its fields.
Tagging one brings it straight back. The filter respects curation rather than simply being stricter — which is the difference between a fix and a blunt instrument.
What is real, and what is simulated
Runs in your browser
- The normaliser — all 20 punctuation rules and the entity handling, in the order the Liquid applies them
- The searchable haystack of a later revision of the snippet: title, vendor, type, tags, variant titles, variant SKUs and the description
- The every-word-present check, including the -es and -s stemming that revision added
Ported from two Liquid snippets, as revised after the first fix. The fix shipped on 19 August 2026 matched curated fields only and left the description out; a later revision added the description (so a body-copy word such as mohair is found) and plural stemming. This page runs that revision. Liquid needs a Shopify request context to execute, so unlike the four digest-pinned demos there is no golden output to compare against here — instead every behaviour the snippets document in prose is a test. 17 of them.
Simulated
- Shopify's semantic expansion, which runs on their side. The result sets are recorded observations of live behaviour, not computed here
- The catalogue — twelve invented MERIDIAN products
