INTERACTIVE DEMO — SYNTHETIC DATA

Wholesale Order Platform

An order form with a review queue behind it. Its three most interesting decisions are defensive rather than featureful — this is those three, rebuilt so you can drive them.

Every record on this page is fabricated. No production system, customer, employee or credential is involved.

The production system behind this demo was engineered by Prada Dipa — LinkedIn profile, opens in a new tab and Luthfi Aditya — LinkedIn profile, opens in a new tab. I managed and directed it — requirements, technical review, QA and rollout.

DECISION 1

Is this account new?

Two searches over the same ten accounts. One is the type-ahead a rep picks from. The other decides the verdict. They are deliberately not the same query.

RANKED ACCOUNT SEARCH

Filtered to active, unflagged accounts, ranked, top five. Correct for choosing where to file an order.

NEW

BATCHED WHOLE-NAME MATCH

Exact, over every account including the inactive and the flagged. One query per page load, not one per order.

THE VERDICT THE PLATFORM USES

EXISTS

Duplicate. The ranked search cannot see this account, so it reports NEW — and the form would offer a create-account button for a stockist the brand is already selling to. The whole-name match sees it. Inactive, so the ranked search cannot see it. The account exists and has an order history.

DECISION 2

Three order minimums, on the server

A total floor of 2,500, 6 units per style and 2 units per SKU. The browser may draw them; it does not decide them. Prices are invented and carry no currency.

The season order, editable. Quantity, unit price and line value per SKU.

DECISION 3

A stockist within twenty minutes

A new account with coordinates gets checked against the existing book for a possible brand conflict. It is a note, and it stays a note.

DEGRADED PATH — with a maps key the platform asks the Distance Matrix for a real drive time. There is no key here, so this page does what the platform does without one: straight-line haversine distance, converted to minutes at an assumed 30 km/h. That assumption is this page’s own and is not a measurement of any road. It is shown so the threshold is legible, not so it can be believed.

Existing stockists by distance from the new account’s site.

2 stockists inside the 20-minute threshold. This never blocks a submit and is not wired to anything that could. It is a line on the form and a column in the planning queue, because whether two shops a few kilometres apart actually conflict is a commercial judgement, and the check does not know enough to make it.

OUTPUT

What the server answers

One thing can refuse this order. The other two answers travel with it as data.

STANDING RULES, STATED RATHER THAN DEMONSTRATED

  • No card field exists on this page. The platform’s rule is that the card number and CVV live in memory for the length of one submit request and are then discarded — only the last four digits and the cardholder name persist, and the buyer-facing PDF is masked. A demo of that rule would need somewhere to type a card, so there is nowhere.
  • Every CRM call is server-side. The browser never holds a credential and never talks to Salesforce. Here it talks to ten rows of invented JSON.
  • Three surfaces, separately guarded. A public order form, an internal admin queue and a read-only rep dashboard scoped to one rep’s own book. Admin and rep sessions live under separate keys in one cookie and each guard rejects the other’s. None of that is simulated here.

THE BOOK · 10 ACCOUNTS

3 of them cannot be returned by the ranked search — inactive, or carrying a conflict flag. They exist, they have order history, and they are the reason the verdict is a separate query.
